As time past the sun got warmer, the lakes boiled away and the land turned to dust!
The last human went to see Mother Earth and asked her why?
He looked into her face expecting tears, but she smiled back at him and she said "You have plundered my wealth, abused my gifts and you have poisoned my oceans and skies. Your selfishness and greed and destroyed everything precious and worthy! But last human know this, you have killed only yourselves not me! I am tired now and must sleep but when I awaken in one maybe ten million years, I will be refreshed, replenished and my oceans cleansed!"
With that Mother Earth lay down to sleep. The last human, strength fading, lifted his flask to his mouth but it was empty! Out of the corner of his eye he saw a beetle scurry benieth the sand and he know that Mother Earth was right!
