How do you even imagine that would work? And now, of course, people start crying that their computers got infected with malware. Which is great - every genius who fell for this obvious phishing scam deserved it. I hope your shitty computer burns and you along with it.

Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

This and that!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and are having a great holiday!

Thank you to everyone who has fav'd my work recently, I'm sorry but I don't have the time to thank everyone individually but I truly appreciate your support!

Would anyone like a feature, it's seems so long since I offered this! If you would just comment to this journal with a link to the picture you'd like featured, if you like you can also include a link to someone else's picture you like as well as your own!

Anyone any good at maths? Here's a little puzzle, just make 24 using only the numbers 1,3,4 and 6. Each number must be used once and only once and they cannot be combined to make 13 or 46 or anything like that! You can only use the four basic operators +,-,* and /.

I saw my brother at Christmas, quite a rare event, and he informed me that quite a few people he works with know me as they played my old games! This was a bit of a surprise to me as I haven't received any royalties since dinosaurs roamed the Earth! Oddly, they list some of my really obscure ones that I was embarrassed about even then but a lot of others are missing! Codename Mat even has a Wikipedia entry [link] . I'd love to know who wrote that as hardly anyone knew that working title stuff.
This was quite a weird trip down memory lane and quite frightening how long ago it all was!
One final bit of history if anyone has got down this far!
We actually got sued by paramount pictured for using the Star Trek name although we just changed the name and that was the end of it!
I set up the software house Zeppelin Games which I ran for a little ove a year before selling out! It later became Merit Studios and is now Eutechnyx. Last time I checked their website I appear to have been deleted from the company history, well that's life!

Haha, I normally keep my past totally secret lol, but I was a bit annoyed to discover how big the retro game scene is and I don't get a penny in royalties! I've never heard anyone suggest that films or music from the 80s should be totally free! We all survived Christmas and I found a couple of hours to make another picture. Well perhaps you should look into the legalities of getting royalties for your works. You can prove they are your designs and can prove your involvement in the company. Its kinda like proving youre an heir to an inheritance...many dont even know they are but once the legals are done well......it might be worth a shot Derek.
